Puppy and Me At The Sandy Library

We’re proud to partner with the Sandy Library to bring you this free and interactive class on dog safety, designed for ages 2 through 15.

This class was requested by parents and other service dog trainers, who noticed how their children did not know which dogs can be approached, and so they were getting barked at, growled at, or scratched. This is meant to be a 30-minute instructional session, using interactive activity sets for all ages, featuring one of our trainer’s trained service dog!

Children will be asked to take a seat so we can begin our session, and once the session has ended, they each can walk up to the trainer and service dog, and practice and etiquette the skills they’ve learned in this class.

Topics Covered:

  • Basic body language of dogs
  • Dangerous red flags in dogs
  • Proper greeting etiquette
  • Tips on how to safely play with their own dogs at home

We use positive reinforcement training methods that are practical, study-driven, and conducted by certified trainers. This ensures that the learning process is effective, humane, and enjoyable experience!
